Trails to get you started …
Three very different (and not too challenging, promise!) trails that give a flavour of the wonderful running available throughout the Tweed Valley.
Hamilton Hill & Standalane Wood, Peebles
With a gorgeous riverside section, punchy climbs, lovely woodland, fine views and a burst along an old drove road, this route packs a huge amount into a relatively short distance.

Cademuir Forest and The Cut, Peebles
A short, but very sweet, route that starts on the John Buchan Way before passing through lovely Cademuir Forest and returning to town through a tree-lined band known locally as The Cut.
6.5km round trip | Ascent: 75m | Route details
Traquair Estate Circuit
A relatively new path that links a previously unvisited part of the Traquair Estate before rising – following the Southern Upland Way for a stretch – to give magnificent views to Lee Pen and along the Tweed Valley. To avoid a rather steep start, we recommend beginning at the gate opposite the Innerleithen mountain bike trail head and running in an anti-clockwise direction.
