About Us
Go Tweed Valley is the public face of the Tweed Valley Tourism BID – a business-led initiative that aims to turn the area into a world-class activity destination for all.
The Tourism BID area extends east from West Linton and Stobo, roughly following the mighty River Tweed to encompass Peebles, Innerleithen, Walkerburn and Clovenfords, finishing just west of Selkirk. To the north, Eddleston is also included.
Working together with more than 100 tourism businesses throughout this small but diverse area, we aim to deliver an unrivalled experience for visitors of all ages and interests. Formed in 2020, we were only the second such tourism-specific Business Improvement District (BID) in Scotland after Visit Inverness Loch Ness, although there is now a third in the shape of Visit Moray Speyside.
Today, the Tweed Valley Tourism BID works with and on behalf of participating businesses to create a strong, sustainable and high-quality tourism product that is designed to put the area very much on the world map. We would like visitors to have a great time (and to return again and again!) and for local tourism businesses and communities to thrive and prosper.
We are expertly guided by a Board of Directors that, between them, represent a range of tourism businesses in the area:
Chair: Catherine Maxwell Stuart, Traquair House
Treasurer: Richard Spanner, Barony Castle
Board members: Chris Ball, Enduro Sports Organisation; Bill Cross, Cringletie; Mark Steedman, Macdonald Cardrona Hotel, Golf & Spa; Nigel Davis, Barony Hotel; Patrick Diack, Peebles Hydro Hotel; Pauline Archibald, Hub on the High Street; Ed Shoote, South of Scotland Enterprise; Robin Tatler, SBC Councillor; Janey Kennedy, Tweed Valley Bikes; Emma-Jean Wood, One Stop Laundry & Self-Service; Steve Plag, Kailzie Gardens & Kailzie Big Lodge.
