Sail away
The largest natural loch in the whole of the Scottish Borders offers fantastic sailing opportunities.
In the neighbouring Yarrow Valley, the broad expanse of St Mary’s Loch is an ideal spot to enjoy sailing. With much of the loch-side privately owned, access is through St Mary’s Loch Sailing Club which offers a variety of sailing activities, including yacht racing, yacht training, junior events, windsurfing, kayaking and rowing. Temporary memberships are available for between one day and a couple of weeks. Great paddling also available on the nearby (and much smaller) Loch of the Lowes.
Kayaks and paddleboards are also available for hire at St Mary’s Loch through local provider, Kayak and SUP Hire & Sales Scottish Borders.
